My brain seems to expand and fill and grow physically light and peaceful. I begin to feel it filling quietly. And so the unconscious part now expands; and walking I notice an infinite number of things without naming them; because I am not thinking of any special thing. Now and again I feel my mind take shape, like a cloud with the sun on it, as some idea, emotion or image wells up, but they travel on, over the horizon, like clouds, and I wait peacefully for another to form, or nothing - it matters not which.

What is meant by “reality”? It would seem to be something very erratic, very undependable—now to be found in a dusty road, now in a scrap of newspaper in the street, now a daffodil in the sun. It lights up a group in a room and stamps some casual saying. It overwhelms one walking home beneath the stars and makes the silent world more real than the world of speech—and then there it is again in an omnibus in the uproar of Piccadilly. Sometimes, too, it seems to dwell in shapes too far away for us to discern what their nature is. But whatever it touches, it fixes and makes permanent. That is what remains over when the skin of the day has been cast into the hedge; that is what is left of past time and of our loves and hates.

Here I stand. I stand for a moment in the heart of London. Innumerable wheels rush and feet press just over my head. I am in the heart of life. I still move. I still live. But who will come if I signal?

“That’s our show! Not a lot of you watched, but the joke’s on you because we got paid anyway!”

I’m sad that the show’s over, but I’m so happy that it ended so strongly!

30 Days of Crochet — Day 9: What fiber or yarn do you love working with?

insertcrochetpunhere:

I tend to work with acrylic. I know, I know. I’m a poor college student and acrylic is cheap, durable and washable. I really like using Caron’s Simply Soft and Vanna’s Choice. They are both nice and soft, come in a variety of colors and are easy to get.

Also I’m never scared of messing up when I use these, because even if I ruin the yarn and have to throw it away I didn’t waste more than 3 or 4 dollars.

God, so much yarn…

A Geeky Crochet Retrospective (Part IV)

insertcrochetpunhere:

Ok, so not actually crochet, but definitely something geeky I made awhile back. So I don’t know if you guys know this, but M. Night Shama-llama-ding-dong made a live action movie of one of my favorite cartoons of all time. I didn’t expect much, but I held out hope that it wouldn’t be crap… I was hugely disappointed. However, I did make these for the premiere and I am still proud of them.

I’m still really, really happy with these. I just wish that I still had the Airbender shirt.

I got bored at work.

insertcrochetpunhere:

So there has been a lot of winter weather and no one has come into my place of employment, so I got bored and made my coworker a hat while we sat around the company computer and watched the BBC version of Being Human

She wanted a simple hat. Ta dah!

Thank you, Kathrene!
